I am currently at LAX and I have tooons to share! First of all, the lunch with my friends and the beach party were amazing! It makes me miss living LA but then again, I am extremely happy to go back home. The interview went so well that they hired me on the spot! I haven’t been hired on the spot like that since I was fourteen for my first job. The majority of the filming is in New York, which I was so happy to find out because now I do not have to relocate but I still will be able to fly out to LA every now and then for the next few months. It is so crazy how you can go from job-less to employed just like that.
The producers of this movie had actually found my blog when they were doing routine background checks and they asked that I keep the movie I am working on private but everything else I can share! I am so thrilled that I will be able to tell you all about what goes into styling for this major production.
So first things first, let me tell you how you even get a job like this. The first project I worked on was in Paris and it was this great French film that I had gotten through connections and I had decided to work on basically because I was in Europe at the time and needed experience working on things solo. So, for this film, it was very different because I do not know anyone connected to this movie. I heard about it through my boyfriend actually because it is a sports film and he was talking about something sporty that I tuned out. I decided to look into though because the time period was similar to the time period I worked in on the Paris film. I ended up emailing the producer and calling him a few times until he finally allowed me to meet with him and his associates. I showed them stills of the movie, ideas I had on this one, and my résumé. After that it was badda-bing badda-boom.
Today I have a meeting with the producers of this new amazing movie (not in Paris this time but in LA!) It may seem weird to you after I spent two years in LA and then moved to NY, it is now that I am considering working in the movie biz — but that’s how life is! So I am flying out for tomorrow(Tuesday) and then the next day also. I am staying in the best hotel I could ever ask for but I am hardly even going to be there! Here’s mostly everything I am packing:
After I arrive, I am having lunch with my friends from LA that I haven’t seen in a year. I am so excited! Then I am going to a Hollywood beach party that my really good friend from high school invited me too because she is friends with the celeb that is throwing the party. I am looking forward to seeing her and meeting her cool new LA friends After I get my beauty sleep, I have to wake up early for my interview. I had the hardet time picking out this outfit but I am pretty happy with the end result. The dress is new from modcloth.com and then I wanted to stay neutral for the rest of the outfit. I think it successfully says “I know fashion, so hire me!” without being way too over the top. Hope you guys agree! I will tell you all how it goes on wednesday!!

Today I am spending the day with my family. First my family is moving to a smaller apartment in a nicer neighborhood because they rarely have us kids living at home anymore so I am going over and helping them pack — Hence the flats Then I am going to an early dinner to celebrate my father. It will be a nice day spending with the family, something I should definitely do more of.
i love lbd’s because you can do soomuch with them. here i used two simple little black dresses and tried to techniques. when it comes to the dresses one way to make it less plain and simple is to notice the shape, cut, and fabric of the dress. i chose tese dresses because even though the color was boring, the style of the dresses were very interesting and beautiful. first of all, you can use bursts of color like the red i did here. also you can add lots and lots of jewelry like in the second example. dont be afraid to combind the two and do red heels with lots of bangles and a bib necklace. just add jewelry and color in a decent, modest amount and you cant go wrong!
I love white this summer. I don’t know why I haven’t been so obsessed before. It reminds me of Greece in the summer and although, I’ve never been to Greece in the summer, I imagine it’s amazing. A perfect example of my ideal flowing white summer dress is from the Givenchy Resort line.
No words can describe how much I need this next dress. I love the girly sleeves contrasting the belt. The accesories for this dress, along with all the other Nina Ricci dresses, enhances the outfit so much! Belted dresses are definitely a reoccurring trend in the Resort lines this yet.
The Proenza Schouler Resort line is worth mentioning as well even though I wouldn’t wear the exact outfit. The bag and shoes are fabulous — I’m focusing on the accessories more than I normally do today! The clean, perfected line of the outfit make it something special.
